Camera sliders
A camera slider moves a camera along a set path at a controlled speed with optional rotation or pitch stages. I've wanted to build one for a while now and have accumulated links to other people's or company's designs.
I want something that uses mostly off-the-shelf parts, like aluminum extrusion and common stepper motors and drivers.
Three-axis
3-Axis Slider and the YouTube video is almost entirely 3D printed, aside from the linear motion system, primarily using herringbone teeth directly connected to stepper motors to rotate. All of the motors are mounted on the gantry itself, which means it's pretty heavy.
DIY Motorized Camera Slider with Pan and Tilt Head uses a wood frame and metal bearings on polished copper dowels. It was rebuilt by Jim Harrison.
3D Printed, Ultralight, 3-axis Modular Time-Lapse Motion Control System is a big project and uses a bunch of odd parts, like carbon fiber tubes.

Two-axis
DIY motorised camera slider with object tracking uses basic aluminum extrusions and no loop belt.
1.5 meter Fully motorised DIY Arduino Camera slider is a metal design with parts that can be bought from Amazon.
OpenSlider XYZ uses a hard to find 260mm closed loop of GT2 timing belt, but otherwise is a really nice design. The calibration for the carriage is a nice touch, even if it might need further adjustment as the PLA accommodates the strain.
WIFI motorized Camera Slider also uses a 200mm closed loop timing belt for the "pitch" axis, though an earlier design might have used a direct connection.
DIY Motorized Camera Slider uses linear rods mounted to wood and metal brackets.
Motorized Camera Slider With Tracking System uses two linear rods so it's not very rigid, but it seems straightforward to build.
Diy Arduino 2-axis Camera Slider doesn't really have a build log so it's hard to say if it's any good.
CC Franz is not very clear on how it's put together.
Fully Mechanical Pan Tilt Slider has a lot of parts to it and seems a bit overbuilt, with a 20mm × 60mm V-slot extrusion.
aaxis might provide a second pan axis for a camera slider.
Single-axis
CircuitPython Camera Slider by Adafruit has a great guide, but it uses a linear rail plus V-slot extrusion in a wasteful way.
DIY 3D printed camera slider is a 3D printed linear rod slider.
DIY Motorized Camera Slider is a linear rod and extrusion slider.
DIY Arduino-based motorized DSLR camera slider and associated article is based on OpenBuilds hardware, but doesn't have its own gantry.
DIY Motorized Camera Slider From Four 3D Printed Parts uses the OpenBuilds platform but doesn't seem to have a calibration system for the carriage to firmly grasp the extrusion. The printer's tolerances have to be perfect for it to move with no rattling.
Object Tracking Camera Slider With Rotational Axis uses threaded rods for stability and linear rods and bearings. Instead of stepper motors, it uses DC servomotors.
